It may be the first time you've ever heard of Pilates fitness training, however this method has been around for just short of one hundred years. Recently it's become widely known and a bit of a craze in some places.

Joseph Pilates, a physical trainer in the UK treated injured British soldiers during WW1. His experimentation of many forms of therapy and exercise for achieving optimum health lead to his discovery of what we now know as the Pilates training or Pilates fitness training program.

Joseph Pilates wanted to create a method of exercise that would provide a safe way to increase strength along with one that would be the most effective use of the time spent in training.
